Isle of Man Women’s Collective celebrates first anniversary on International Women’s Day
The Isle of Man Women’s Collective has this week celebrated its first anniversary, coinciding with International Women’s Day 2025.
The Isle of Man Women’s Collective was launched by two local business owners, Kat Whittaker - managing director of No 1. Accounts in Peel, and Ramsey-based Kirstie Nickson - co-founder of Sidekick PR in March last year.
Since launching, the group has hosted multiple networking and panel events across the island, welcoming inspirational female speakers from Isle of Man businesses to share their insights and expertise on topics including health, wellbeing and finance.
The group also held its first speed networking event in January, introduced regular sound bath sessions and monthly meet-ups for its members, and announced Manx Breast Cancer Support Group as its official charity for 2025.
Kirstie Nickson, co-founder of the Isle of Man Women’s Collective, said: “We’re thrilled with how the first year of the group has gone.
“We’ve seen each event we’ve held attract between 40 and 70 attendees which is fantastic. It shows just how much demand there is for a community that brings together women entrepreneurs and business leaders on the island.
“We set out to create a space where these women can discuss challenges and opportunities with others in similar positions and support others who want to start their own business or progress within their organisation, too.
“We’ve achieved this – but we’re not ones to rest on our laurels. We’ve got big plans for the next 12 months ahead!”
